Christine Langston joined our team as a Data Science Co-Op and she works to manage the data from the non-contact hardware sensors we install at transmission lines and develop valuable analysis we present to our customers. She regularly digs her hands into the data calculations, models, and validation of the statistics at the backbone of our product, including dynamic line ratings and quantifying asset health.
Christine brings a combination of infrastructure domain knowledge and data analysis experience to our team. Before LineVision, she interned for Iberdrola’s solar energy department and graduated with a B.S. from the Civil & Environmental Engineering department at MIT, where she worked on research collaborations with transportation and urban planning professors. Christine first became fascinated with the energy grid in high school when she regularly rowed under transmission lines that cross the San Francisco Bay, wondering where the electricity was being transported. Growing up in California, a state heavily reliant on renewable energy and hugely affected by wildfires and power outages, she was inspired to work in the energy industry and is excited to contribute to innovation in the energy sector at LineVision.
Christine lives in Somerville, MA and enjoys a 10 minute walk to the office (when we go in) and living close to other coworkers, regularly benefiting off of Kate Merna’s extra garden vegetables.
