LineVision's Q1 2025 Newsletter

The beginning of 2025 has been all about nurturing our partnerships with utilities to meet the unprecedented demands of load growth.

Many states are introducing legislation that would require utilities to explore GETs as an option in their planning processes as a cost-effective solution to meet energy demand.

In this newsletter, we're excited to share partnership announcements, an upcoming webinar on lessons learned from AES's deployment of Dynamic Line Ratings, a LineVision case study in Bloomberg, and other news and events we'll be a part of in 2025.

It is already shaping up to be a big year for grid enhancing technologies like Dynamic Line Rating to help utilities strengthen existing grid infrastructure and we're looking forward to the year ahead!

Upcoming Webinar

Join LineVision for a fireside chat with AJ Hall, Portfolio Management Director at AES) and Karthik Rao, LineVision's VP of Client Success. We will be discussing the Lessons Learned from AES's Deployment of Dynamic Line Ratings, the success of the project, and how AES is thinking about addressing continuing load growth.

Reserve your spot for the webinar at 12pm EDT on Wednesday, March 19th!

You can also read more about our project with AES in this EE Online article.

Regulatory Roundup

  • Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright issued an order, “Unleashing the Golden Era of American Energy Dominance,” highlighting a focus on strengthening the nation’s grid, including the backbone of the grid, the transmission system
  • Over a half dozen states have introduced legislation in 2025 that would require utilities to evaluate GETs within their planning processes, or conduct feasibility studies around cost-effective GETs deployments.
  • Regulators in Indiana approved a new interconnection tariff for large load customers like data centers, which includes a requirement for utility Indiana Michigan Power to study the potential of GETs to maximize the efficiency of the transmission grid.

In The News

Bloomberg

LineVision is featured in this Bloomberg article as a solution to load growth caused by AI demand and other factors.

The article shines a light on Dynamic Line Rating as a cost-saving technology that accommodates load growth quickly and safely.

It also includes a case study from our project with National Grid UK, revealing that installing 11 sensors over 35 kilometers of grid saved National Grid UK £14 million ($17.5 million) and increased power capacity significantly.
