Regulatory News

LineVision’s Vice President of Policy and External Affairs, Hilary Pearson, has been appointed Chair of the Board for the WATT Coalition. The WATT Coalition advocates for policy that supports wide deployment of Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs), to improve grid operations and planning. 

Additionally, LineVision was honored to meet with Maine’s Governor Janet Mills and legislators to discuss Grid Enhancing Technologies, following our Sr. Director of Marketing, Carson Casey's op-ed on transmission issues, which was run in the Portland Press Herald.

Company News

LineVision welcomed three new board members, Phil Giudice, Kevin Kimsa, and Francis O’Sullivan, who bring with them a vast amount of experience in climate policy, finance, and energy sectors. Additionally, we are proud to have been named a Gigacorn in a Forbes article, recognizing our ability to mitigate or remove one billion tonnes of GHG emissions with an enterprise value exceeding one billion dollars. We also received coverage from Fast Company and Climate Tech VC.

In January, one of our largest installations to date was completed with National Grid. 27 Sensors were installed on a line in Northern New York, which will reduce curtailments by 350MW and integrate an additional 190MW of clean energy while increasing transmission capacity by over 30%.

In February, The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) recognized LineVision's efforts with National Grid UK to modernize the grid by awarding the Eason Award for Digital Innovation. The IAM award recognizes “innovative advancements in asset management in the face of current challenges, and good asset management principles in adapting to new technologies, advancements in digital capabilities, and meeting competitive, digital business and/or consumer trends." 

Industry Events

Our leadership team had a busy start to the year with a number of speaking engagements nationwide. Hilary Pearson was a keynote speaker at numerous events, including IEEE's 2023 North American Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference, NARUC Winter Policy Summit, and National Association of State Energy Officials in Washington, D.C.

LineVision’s CEO, Hudson Gilmer, presented at S&P Global's CERAWeek in Houston and spoke in a fireside chat in GE's booth on the partnership between LineVision and GE while at DistribuTECH.

Looking ahead, Hilary will also be speaking at Western NARUC in Napa, CA, on May 22nd, in a session titled "The Role of Advanced Transmission Technologies in Getting More from Existing Lines," moderated by Thad LeVar, Chair, Public Service Commission of Utah.

Team Updates

 We are proud to be recognized as one of Built In's Best Places to Work in Boston, which reflects our commitment to building a tight-knit culture full of innovation and collaboration. For Earth Day, LineVision participated in a clean-up day along the Mystic at Torbert Macdonald Park in Medford. We’re so grateful for our team members that showed up and participated!
